Nathaniel Smith is a re-recording mixer and sound editor based in Hollywood and the owner of Post Up Audio. He works across the full deliverable spectrum—theatrical film, streaming, broadcast television, web, and social—approaching every project from the audience’s seat, with a focus on how sound carries narrative. His work spans dialogue editing, sound design, and final mix, whether handling a project solo or supervising a remote team. He’s drawn to the creative possibilities of new formats—Dolby Atmos, immersive and spatial audio—but treats them as tools in service of the story, not ends in themselves. What stays constant is a mix grounded in clean, intelligible dialogue and an instinct for how an audience will actually hear and follow a scene.
